The Structure of Narrantis

To keep the world’s lore consistent and immersive, we’ve divided the continent into different regions, each with its own unique racial, political, and cultural identity. These regional themes, which we call "Hard Lore," set the tone for how things work in that area.

This "Hard Lore" acts as a big-picture guide, meaning that while each region has its own rules, you still have a lot of creative freedom when building your faction or nation. By focusing on regional lore rather than restricting faction lore, you’re free to create diverse and unique factions that fit within the setting of the region you choose.

The Kingdom

Heralds and troubadours wander around, singing stories of ladies and noble knights, of nobility and intrigue. Rivers of wine and beer flow in the taverns where the boys toast with squires and warlords of all ages, dreaming of one day being a knight with a fief of their own, or of once and for all entering with their deeds into the songs of Silver Cross, the capital of the Kingdom.

The Ancestral Mountains

Icy winds blow across white mountains where ancient civilizations carved glorious citadels deep beneath the earth. Fearsome warriors hardened by the hostile climate patrol the perilous mountain roads, teeming with bandits, as the ancient dwarven tracks lie forgotten beneath the mountains due to centuries of lack of maintenance.

The Craters of Caldir

The Craters of Caldir are scorching places, where volcanic lava flows in viscous rivers, solidifying into fertile plains where the Fire Trees grow. The unnatural landscape is filled with brightly coloured mushrooms above and below the ground, scenting the air with moss and cloves when consumed by the heat.

The Barbaricum

An arid and inhospitable place, a land of mighty warriors and shrewd merchants, in search of wealth hidden among thousands of dangers. In the Barbaricum, every hot desert rock hides a potential enemy and the prying eye of the informants of the many barbarian tribes that inhabit these places.

The Kasmian League

Gentle reliefs between the mountains and the lowland desert host an ancient land of prophecies and riches. The bright sun illuminates the high towers of the Kasmian Civilization, beacons in the night for merchants and travellers.

The Skyborne Citadels

The Sky Fountain is a wonderful collection of floating isles based atop a set of static clouds high up into the skies above the seas. Ancient winged warriors, children of the Empyrean realm live in these high-rise buildings, free from worry and sorrow as their winged nature makes them untouchable by most.

The Waters of Oceathis

Crystal clear waters seem to whisper between the rocks, where calm waves have been crashing since the dawn of time at a periodic, almost mystical rhythm. The Waters of Oceathis enchant dazzling beaches of smooth pebbles, shells and enveloping sand. Sweet hospitable shores extend over the region where birds sing mysterious songs among furtive glances.

The Enchanted Forest

Among the foliage of the Enchanted Forest, gentle Elfin songs and enchanting arcane scents caress those who pass through it. In the sylvan darkness lie magical secrets and ancient passages that lead to the most diverse and remote regions of Narrantis.
