Humans

Native of: The Kingdom, The Kasmian League

Humans emerged from the Maze last, guided by the light of the Empyreans, from whom they claim descent. Humans are no different from dwarves in many ways: they love civilization, rules, and beauty.

What differentiates them, in addition to their taller stature, is the attention they’ve always had for morality. Humans were the first to divide their race into warring factions and argue about absolute good and evil. The first groups of cultists who hunted down the black mages of the abyss were human, and those who on principle took sides in defense of the natives were also human.

It is known that humans are multiple and diverse, divided into factions and of a changing nature. They are passionate about trade and travel in which they get to know and support the most diverse causes

History

About 600 years ago, when the human race first saw the sky, the war of civilization raged on Narrantis.

In fact, when humans appeared from the Maze, last among the races, the world was in ruins, destroyed by decades of prolonged struggles between the gods and peoples of Narrantis.

Humans did not hesitate to side with the Asaernes and the Empyrean gods, and occupying their slice of the world they began to fortify large areas of land, fighting against the servants of the abyss on the coasts, in the deserts, in the depths of the earth and other fiery edges of the world.

However, the war escalated to such an extent that it led to the near disappearance of the Seers themselves, the fathers of the races and creators of the Maze.

Thus it was that the Seers erected an Iron Veil that prevented the deities of the Outer Realms from entering Narrantis, and in the Great Night that followed humans and Asaernes definitively pushed their enemies back to the edges of the world.

Then the world stilled, and the first dawn of the Iron Veil no longer saw the deities appear from the heavens, commanding thunderous commands to their subjects.

Some were disoriented, others lost their faith, humans like all races began to found independent kingdoms, devoted to their laws and sovereigns…

In the “Lunar Showdown” episode, happened centuries later, two different groups of men stood out:

The Arkaians, inhabitants of the Kasmian League, open traders, conciliatory with the Tieflings and worshipers of the Oracle of Al-Kasm. The Silverians or Silverarms, inhabitants of the Kingdom of the Silver Vale and faithful to their old Empyrean tradition, which wants them allies of the Aesernes and proud of their traditional culture. Silverarm was the noble name of the ruling house of Silvercross, it was later extended by their rivals the Arkaians to the population of the entire region.

A third group of men headed north into the Ancestral Mountains, where they made pacts with the dwarves to safeguard trade routes through the mountains. These men, hardened by the hostile climate, are rough men and often at odds with their more civilized Silvercross cousins, from whom they descend.

Humans today

Today humans are very divided among the central regions of the continent. They organize themselves into duchies and city states when they are not wandering around the continent, and follow the most disparate destinies.
