Native of: The Ancestral Mountains
Short and stubborn humanoids, with a temper as hard as stone itself, the dwarves are throughout Narrantis the emblem of the ingenuity and history of the continent itself, whose mountains are overflowing with their ruins.
Each dwarf carries with him respect for the ancient places and tombs of his ancestors that fill the depths of the mountains.
Beyond this, dwarves traditionally love craftsmanship and smithing, which warms their grim hearts, and the shadow of the bonfires of the great halls, malt ale, and dried meat. It is the so-called “legacy of the Seers”, what they are proud of as the first created beings. Just like their divine ancestors they too want to recognize themselves as artificers, blacksmiths and architects of marvelous works.
This is precisely how the Seers, fathers of the dwarves, conceived the dwarves and in a certain way the dwarves are the soul of the depths of the earth itself.
A dwarf is 1.3 to 1.5 m tall, men as well as women. The men have a thick beard of which they are usually very proud, while the hairstyles change depending on the faction they belong to.
They have large noses and stocky builds; they are generally dressed heavily both in war and in civilian life. Their gruff character is proverbial.

Underground builders
Dwarves can alter the depths of the underground without suffering any weakening.
All races begin puberty around the age of 12 and are considered adults from 18 years of age. Dwarves live up to around 160 years.
It is told throughout Narrantis that prophetic beings known as Seer once populated this Realm, and that they had mortal helpers with whom they built their wonders, including the Iron Veil.
These helpers were the Dwarves, who first emerged from the depths of the Maze. There was a time when dwarves guarded every mountain and pass on the continent, in the Age of Myth when deities walked Narrantis. The dwarves built wonders on behalf of their forefathers and gods and endowed their sanctuaries with wealth and defenses. However, in the Great Night that followed the construction of the Iron Veil, the races clashed and hordes of goblins and dragons destroyed most of these outposts in the bowels of the earth.
It is a common legend among the dwarves of the continent that of the lost scrolls of Grukkmun, containing the lost magic of the Seer: the true magic of Narrantis guarded by their ancestors within the bowels of the earth.
Dwarves traditionally use magic only out of necessity as they never historically appreciated any of it. Only golemancy and runecraft, now lost, were deemed worthy by their ancestors.
Dwarves are in fact the only traditionally secular race of Narrantis. Their ancestors the Seer are for most of them the only deities of Narrantis, and any other god can enter this world with only their permission. Dwarves therefore cannot tolerate the chaos and destruction brought by religions and are wary of fanatics and cultists of other races.
After all, the dwarves believe they are the only true heirs of the Seers and try to imitate their isolationism and superiority.
Isolated in the Ancestral Mountains, the dwarves saw the Iron Veil as a sign of destiny, a divine mandate. The Seers ousted the intruding gods from appearing on Narrantis, making their children, first and foremost the dwarves, the true lords of the land. Hidden by the mountains of their ancestors, the dwarves seek to rebuild their old citadels and rediscover their history.
