The first thing you’re tasked to do when you join the server is creating a character. A character is who you portray in roleplay. Each character on the server has a character card and an inventory/enderchest that are linked solely to this character.
A character card consists of the name, age, gender, race, description, and stats for combat roleplay (CRP). These will all be selected during the character creation and a some options can be changed later on.
Every player can have up to 2 character slots active at one time and is allowed to shelf up to 3 characters making it a maximum of 5 characters per player.
You can get an additional character slot by boosting the discord server!
Every character has their own inventory and enderchest. It is against the rules to share items or money between your own characters so make sure to keep these separate.
You can create a new character using the command /newcharacter
.
After executing this command you’ll be met with a chat message guiding you through the process of creating a character. Type in the chat to answer the requirements that are asked of you.
If you leave the server at any point during the character creation process, it will be safely cancelled.
After you completed all these steps, your character is ready to use! You can now explore Narrantis and all it has to offer. Type /card
to get a good overview of who your current character is.
Once you created your character, you will develop and change. You can change the name of your characters, the age, the description and the stats to better suit the current situation of your character.
By typing /card
your character card will show up. In front of the different parts such as name, description, and stats a golden [E]
can be seen. Clicking on this [E]
will allow you change that specific part by opening a menu or a prompt in chat.
If you wish to make changes to your character that are not within your possibilities as a player then you should contact the emissaries by opening a ticket in the Support Discord.
When you have multiple characters, the following commands will come in handy.
You may list all characters you own with /char list
.
You can select what character you want to play right now in the /characters
menu.
What does this mean?
There is a big difference between shelving and killing characters.
Why would you choose for these options?
If you finish a story arc on one character and you are getting bored of playing them, you might choose to shelf this character and put the character inactive. That means you will free up 1 active character slot and you can create a new character. Do keep in mind that you have a maximum amount of of 3 shelved characters you can have at once. If the 21 days have passed and you have 1 active character slot open, you can unshelf the character and play it again.
Shelved characters will be marked as (shelved)
in your /char list
.
Killing a character however has more serious consequences. The character will be unplayable from that point onward, the items lost. A player will have to do this if their character dies in roleplay and they consent to a permanent kill. Sometimes characters also commit suicide or players are forced to permanently kill their character due to events or roleplay consequences.
Dead characters will be marked as (dead)
in your /char list
.
Shelving a character is done by executing /char shelf [character name]
.
A little question will pop in in your screen and you will have to click [Yes]
to confirm you want to shelf the character. After this you are not allowed to unshelf the character for 3 weeks.
Unshelving a character can be done using /char unshelf [character name]
.
This command will only be possible if you have waited the 3 weeks, otherwise you will get an error. If you correctly unshelved a character it will show up normally in your /char list
again and you can once again select the character in the /characters
menu.
Killing a character is done using /char kill [character name]
. Killing a character can not be undone by the player, only by staff and only for very good reasons. Staff will not refund any items lost due to the killing of a character.
